Pam Vergun to read from A Dimly Burning Wick, at St. Johns Books in Portland Oregon!

Tickets are only $5, which includes a $3 donation to the work of Physicians for Social Responsibility and refreshments. All those holding tickets will receive a $2 discount that evening for purchasing a copy of A Dimly Burning Wick. Dr. Vergun will be available after her talk to sign books.
Dr. Vergun's talk will not include graphic descriptions of the event that would be particularly disturbing to children, in keeping with the tone of the book itself. (Two of the chapters have been published as children’s picture books.)

Her talk: Understanding Hiroshima—Personal and Policy Lessons to Take into the Future: Resource for Teaching and Building Peace and Justice addressed the central question of the conference.
The Peace and Justice Studies Association (PJSA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together academics, K-12 teachers and grassroots activists to explore alternatives to violence and share visions and strategies for peacebuilding, social justice, and social change. PJSA also serves as a professional association for scholars in the field of peace and conflict resolution studies, and is the North-American affiliate of the International Peace Research Association.
